Friday January 31, 2003:
Had my second date with Lauren today diary. She’s something else. I finished at 4pm, and we went for a stroll along the Black Mesa dam over in Sector G. I brought a bottle of wine along with me. We sat and sipped it from plastic cups and watched the sun set. I have to say that, as ugly as this facility is, the actual views from up there are awesome.
Lauren and I talked for hours, but as the sky turned gold we ran outta things to say and just enjoyed each other’s company. I even screwed up the courage to put my arm around her. She didn’t complain, so I took that as a good sign.
This time, I was allowed into her dormitory for a cup of coffee at the end of the date. Now, as I’m a gentleman, I won’t share what happened next, but all I’ll say is that I ended up staying over. You can fill in the gaps yourself.
I can’t wait to see her again. We arranged another date for next week, so things sure are moving fast for ol’ Barney Calhoun.
