Gordon came up with perfect payback for Magnusson. Remember how easy I said it was to hack into VOX? Well this afternoon, Freeman managed to bypass the security clearances and messed around with the announcement system.
It turns out that it’s a text-to-speech program, so you can get the AI to say anything you want to if you have the proper authority. Or if you’re Freeman. He got the computerised voice to say:
“ATTENTION: ALL. SCIENCE. PERSONNEL. DOCTOR. MAGNUSSON. IS. AN. ASSHOLE. REPEAT: DOCTOR. MAGNUSSON. IS. AN. ASSHOLE.”
It took the tech guys an hour to fix, and by that time I heard Dr Magnusson had blown his lid. Lauren and I had a good laugh about it later.
